Where are you from?
– I grew up in Bollnäs in Hälsingland – once voted Sweden’s ugliest city! I must add this is no longer true, but I am entertained and strangely proud of the title for some reason. Since 2011 I am based in Stockholm.
Some highlights from your professional life?
– I am very grateful for my professional life. I have worked in different contexts, from dance for children and young people, experimental choreography, dance theater and performance art to installation art and opera. Meeting and exchanging with new and old colleagues is a recurring joy and I love to travel and work in new places. A recent highlight was touring with Little Swan Lake in Finland. We performed the show in Finnish which I never would have done otherwise!
Why do you want to do performances for children and young people?
– I like the directness of meeting young people, the reactions are often unfiltered and with no delay. Meeting the audience is always exciting and fun and I remember when I myself saw performances as a young person, how exciting and magical it was. This is the reason why I do what I do today.
